Working With Me

Over the years, I’ve developed an optimized workflow. I’ve always realized that communicating how you like to work helps others collaborate better.

I used to keep this in a private Notion doc, but now, I share it with you all – whatever soul lands on this page.

Questions? Let me know: ajmedick@gmail.com

How I Communicate

Meetings suck. If you’re an async builder, you’re my type of person. I’m a big believer in using Loom (or whatever tool of choice) for async video comms. It’s powerful.

The best ways to connect

  • First: Slack
  • Second: Text Message
  • Third: Email
  • Fourth: Phone Call

When communicating

  • be clear
  • be concise
  • don’t use marketing jargon

Sometimes I respond really quickly and kinda short. Things come off weird via text. Not angry and think you’re crazy.. I just move fast and can’t help it.

With that said… There is something about a good in-person white board jam session. But that’s the exception, not the rule.

Organizational Skills

Organizational skills are everything. If it’s not intuitive and idiot-proof, I’ll hate it.

Collaboration

I love the strategy and the execution sides of life. Need help? I’m in. Need guidance? I’m here. One of my favorite things is being able to help team members and see them grow. So don’t be afraid to ask for a “Can I pick your brain?”

Sorry About The Kids 🤷‍♂️

Listen, I’m a single dad with two kids (6 yrs and 2yrs). Sometimes they get chaotic and interrupt meetings. I try not to let it happen, but let’s face it, it’s going to happen.

If it happens when I’m on a meeting with you, I apologize. We can continue with the kids around (I don’t mind) or we can always reschedule.

It is what it is. Thanks for understanding.

Enneagram Type

Note: I don’t really pay too much attention to Enneagram types, but I hear people are really fascinated by this, so here it is.

ENTJ (Extraversion, Intuition, Thinking, Judgment)

According to Perplexity.ai:

ENTJs are self-assured, enthusiastic, efficient, and strong-willed individuals who believe in themselves with revolutionary zeal and devotion.

They are pragmatic, realistic, determined, socially conscious, motivated, moralistic, and ready to make a difference.

ENTJs are energized by social interactions, focus on ideas and concepts, make decisions based on logic and reason, and prefer planned organization over spontaneity.

They excel at logical reasoning, enjoy developing long-range plans to accomplish their vision, and are assertive leaders who organize people and processes to achieve goals.

Remote Vs. In-Person

Honestly, I love both. Sometimes I want to be in an office, other times I want to be remote.

Remote has been my default for 5+ years now, but also, getting together in-person with your team to jam session it all out is pretty damn great.

Tech Stack

Few times in life does the tech stack really matter. I pretty much like to use whatever automata / makes my life easier / does the damn job without making you think.

Favorite tools include:

  • Notion
  • Superhuman
  • With Broadcast (AI note taker for Google Meet)
  • Slack (communication)
  • WordPress
    • This site is built on WP

Honorable mention tech includes Basecamp, Simplenote, and Things.
