The Damn Raiders

It’s a perfect night in Las Vegas. Warm breeze, clear sky. Monday Night Football. Raiders vs. Chargers. First home game of the season for the silver and black. And yes, I had tickets. Friends and family in tow, ready to cheer for the underdogs. Chargers might be stacked, but this year? Our year. New coach. New QB. Strong draft. The whole “hope springs eternal” package.

Kickoff. Raiders get the ball. First play: interception. Fuck.

It’s gotta get better from here, right?

Nope. Missed handoffs. Two more picks. Offense looks like it stayed home. Scoreboard bleeding.

That’s the Raiders. Trash one week, kings the next. It’s a toxic relationship I’ll never quit.

We lost. Still, the vibes at The Death Star delivered. Stadium lit, crowd electric, night unforgettable.

Always good to catch a game with ones you enjoy surrounding yourself with.
