Tonight I exposed myself.
My true self.
In every realationship I’ve ever been a part of, I always bury my most intimiate parts deep down.
Who wants to love an artist?
Who cares how a writer sees the world?
Will they see me as weak? Will they see me as less of a man?
What even is the view of a male writer these days?
Tonight, I caved. I said, “fuck it.”
If I’m too real. If I’m too raw. If I’m too honest and she rejects it, it is what it is.
Maybe it’s time to stop hiding and start being my full self.
So I told her.
I told her how I feel like I’m burying the best part of myself.
I told her how I romanticize writing and miss the days when I could just create.
Do you know how she responded?
She said, “I feel this to my core.”
It was the most beautiful response I could’ve imagined.
When one shares their heart with the world.
When it’s accepted, its a beautiful fucking thing.
